Paksy Plackis-Cheng, a Dutch native, is the founder and CEO of impactmania. She has interviewed more than 300 impact makers in 30 countries across 5 continents in two years. One of her video stories was featured at the United Nation (UN) Global Compact Conference, April 2017.
In January, 2018, Paksy was appointed Senior Fellow Research & Media at AD&A Museum, UCSB.
Prior, Paksy served in management positions in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) for two American software companies. From start-up, IPO, through M&A, to mature tech companies. She has also consulted for Microsoft, Oracle, and IBM.
At age 29, Paksy was named “Business Star” by Computer Partner Magazine, an IDG publication. She emigrated from the Netherlands to the United States in December 2001.
Paksy currently serves or has served on the board of Opera Santa Barbara; the advisory council for Classical KUSC; the advisory boards of SBCS and Look at Us Alliance, Inc. Paksy served as the community liaison of UCSB Materials Research Lab (MRL). She is the former interim Executive Director and the past Board President of the Santa Barbara Symphony.
Paksy graduated from the Erasmus University, Faculty of Economics, in the Netherlands. She has worked in 11 countries, has lived in three countries, and is fluent in Dutch, English, and Chinese.
